Fee-for-Service

A payment system for health care where the provider is paid for each service rendered rather than a pre-negotiated amount for each patient.

Fee Schedule

A complete listing of fees used by health plans to pay doctors or other providers.

Flexible Benefit Plan

A benefits package allowing an employee to choose from a range of benefit choices.

Formulary

A list of certain drugs and their proper dosages. Under most health plans, better benefits are provided for formulary drugs than are provided for non-formulary drugs.

Female infertility

Female infertility refers to the inability to conceive naturally. The term "subfertility" may also be used, indicating a delay in achieving pregnancy. If you're attempting to conceive, you may require additional assistance to enhance your chances of becoming pregnant.

Fever in children

Frozen shoulder

Frozen shoulder, also known as adhesive capsulitis, is characterized by pain and stiffness in the shoulder joint. Painkillers and exercises can help alleviate symptoms. Your doctor or physiotherapist can suggest additional treatments if necessary.

Fundoplication

Fundoplication is a surgical procedure used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GORD). During this operation, the upper portion of the stomach is wrapped around the lower oesophagus, which is the tube responsible for carrying food from the mouth to the stomach. This helps prevent stomach acid from refluxing into the oesophagus.

Fungal skin infections

Fungal skin infections, such as athlete's foot, ringworm, and fungal nail infections, are common occurrences. These infections are typically mild and respond well to treatment. However, in some cases, they may become more severe or resistant to treatment.

Glandular Fever

Glandular fever, also known as infectious mononucleosis, is a viral infection characterised by symptoms like sore throat, swollen glands, and fatigue. It primarily affects teenagers and young adults. Fortunately, most individuals recover from the infection within two to four weeks.
